Fredericksburg Family Date

We have always enjoyed Braden's days off in medical school, but now that Brade is in residency we REALLY really REALLY enjoy his days off.
As in, party::explore::make memories.
 Brade's so good at coming up with fun ideas--and may I add that there are a LOT of cool things in and around San Antonio that will definitely fill up for days off and entertainment for the next 5 years.

This past Saturday we hiked, shopped, and explored the adorable town of Fredericksburg, TX. It has quaint shops, boutiques, German restaurants and bakeries, ice-cream shops, boot shops, Texas shops, annnnnd about 15 miles away from Fredericksburg is a National Park with lots of hiking and site seeing.

Yup, it was a good day.
I don't know if you can tell, but this rock was kind of steep the last while--the kids took it like champs overall--Brightyn needed some encouragement towards the end [I don't blame her--it was H-O-T], we talked about treats after--the way we do ... {food bribery does work in our family}, but she did it and she did it well!

They conveniently have this little snowcone place right at the bottom after you finish the hike strategically placed {see it in the truck below behind Ports}--we happily and sweat"ily" indulged. :)

Annnnnd here is some of the Main Street. I totally did not capture the whole feel of Main Street, but you can at least get a small gist of the adorableness.

We got a German style sausage cheese roll that was DE-LISH...kind of like a kolache on steroids.
It was worth every calorie.

Until next time Fredericksburg!
